Here is how team’s NRR has progressed after each game. In a long tournament apart from winning matches, NRR is key for teams to qualify in play-off. Interestingly only 8 times teams lost all their 10 wickets in 47 matches, which is a good sign when calculating NRR.
Apart from Delhi Capitals every team at some point had their NRR below zero, and apart from Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals others have improved their NRR.
At end of 47th match we are 9 away from play off, with both MI and RCB have 3 matches left!. Generally teams require 14 points and NRR of > 0.00 to be assured of a play off spot.
However KKR and Kings XI have 12 points with 2 matches to play…and if they are able to win one match with “huge margin”, and another a win/loss a close match..then they might rattle top teams!.
