A statistical analysis of Test partnerships for India. Here is how they paired in ongoing test series played in England.
What caught my attention is number of times a partnership was able to post 25+ runs, and number of times pair batted for 10+ overs. Apart from 1st wkt rest of them had very few of these, and if one has to see how many consecutive times partnerships went past 35+ runs(C 35+), then result is shocking!!.
Below graphics analysis is value of each partnerships while playing at home/away since World Test Championship started (WTC). The data is presented series-wise
The below analysis is based and only three indicators have been used to measure them.
- Balls per wicket
- Batting Average
- Scoring rate /100 balls
The series -wise trend seems to be clear weakness in away series. the opening stand was something that has been reasonably good for India.
