15 Nov / 2017(495)…Men’s Ashes(2017-18) England’s selection based on first class experience.

Here is profile reading of England’s squad for the Ashes. The 5- test series starts on 23rd Nov,2017 at Gabba and ends in SCG on 4th Jan 2018 .

Below player’s analysis is based on their last 2 series played at home against South Africa and West Indies. They won both with little difficulty. The South Africans series was won 3-1, followed by 2-1 victory against West Indies.

Due to injury the originally squad has been altered. Both fast bowlers Jake Ball and  Steve Finn are out the series, and Ben Stokes is unavailable due to police investigation. England have replaced them with fast bowlers Craig Overton and Tom Curran. They might not pick Stokes due to pending  disciplinary action after his arrest outside a night club in Bristol.

The squad has few players who didn’t play the home series. Players like middle order batsman James Vince,  leg spinner Mason Crane, and  keeper Ben Foakes.

The selection of few players is surprising, considering their recent ordinary Int. and domestic form.

Overall selection is based on first class experience. Young players like Crane, Curran, Foakes and Overton, they all have 25 plus 1st class matches under their belt.
