Not that other indices don’t have gaps but during selection you like to see how player performance against pace/spin and bowler’s in each phase. The shorter the game more emphasis is on individual’s performance, hence we see less and less of substantial partnerships(20+) or batsman spending time in middle (>2 overs). On the flip side bowlers have only 4 or less overs to bowl, and if they can bowl economical and pick at least 1 wicket bowling maximum overs, then you have their “perfect figure”
