Batting Average : Runs divided by Wickets

Total runs scored by a Batsman in a Inning, which then is divided by his wicket(all kind of dismissal).  If a Batsman happens to remain Not Out(inclusive of rtd. hurt, and rtd.ill) , then that inning is not divisible. He has to be credited for his effort of not getting dismissed, even if he has not scored any run.

Other than this, one can also measure Team’s Batting Average in a similar way, and it is always divisible by 10 wickets (not 11 wickets) in case of “all out”

Formula

Team Score 250 all out

250/10 = 25.00

Batsman’s Score = 78 Runs

78 /1 = 78.00
