A statistical analysis of T20 cricket.
Here is performance analysis of IPL 2020 followed by win summary of 2019 IPL. T20 format is for experienced players, and with time one gains experience. In this IPL we saw few youngsters who performed exceptionally well as tournament progressed. They gained experience from their failure and played much better cricket.
The most notable player was Ishan Kishan whose first match performance had emotional reflection. Although scored 99 but it was a lost cause for Mumbai Indians – they lost that match in Super Over. One can clearly see his emotion in dugout, he was upset and emotionally drained. However since that match Kishan should greater maturity, and when asked to open the batting (in absence of injured Rohit Sharma) he playled natural game.
However consistent good performance comes with age and experience. Here we saw players like K Rahul, Manish Pandey, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Pat Cummins, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, T Natarajan, Bumrah, Williamson, Holder, Saha, Rayudu, S Dhawan, Gayle, Du Plessis, Jadeja
Then there are players like Paddikal, Samad, Siraj, C Morris, Ferguson, Varun, and Gaikwad, who when given opportunity(matches played) and time(batting position/bowling position) they would perform better.
