Big over percentile (10+ runs/over) Trend gfx below(both innings) in linear 20-over frame. Interestingly 50+ runs in last 5 overs remained same through out the tournament. viz 18 times(both inns). in 20 games
A brief anecdote of Champions League T20.
1- Only twice team’s run rate was below 6 runs/over in this tournament. It was Brisbane on both times chasing less than 140.
2- At end of 10th game (1st bat)avg score = 165.70. It has gone down to 159 in last 10 games(153 before finals).
3- Centuries = 2 (Neil Broom of Otago & Q De Kock of Lions)
4- 11 times teams were asked to chase target of 150 or more : 5wins(Mumbai Indians won twice)& 6 loss.
5- Big partnerships: 5 x 100 & 32 x50s
6- Avg 1st wkt stand = 28.23 featuring 8 x50s
7- top 4 batsman contributed 62.21. of their team’s score.
8- Avg runs in power play(0-6)overs: 44.55 runs – 10 times 50 or more runs scored in PP.
9- Avg runs in last 5 overs =48.25 – 18 times teams went to score more than 50 runs in last 5 overs. Calculating 5 overs back from last over of inn(for innings that ended before the stipulated 20th over).
10- Toss factor : Winning the toss and fielding : every game!.
11- Run outs = 21 & 9 direct hits…. Not sure how many misses…but I believe it’s a great improvement in direct hits.
12-Big overs
a) > 6 runs /over = 67.99%
b) > 10 runs/over :33.99% (slight drop in last 10 games 32.69% against 35.25% in first 10 games).
13) % boundaries = 57.29% , singles 26.14%
